Woking Art Society started life in the 1920s and, apart from a short break during WW2, has been encouraging interest in all forms of the visual arts ever since.

WHAT WE DO
Members and their guests can watch and learn through appraisals and demonstrations at monthly meetings and workshops run by professional artists working in acrylics, mixed-media, oils, pastels, pencils and/or watercolour. Other important events in the Society’s calendar are the annual show at the prestigious Lightbox Gallery and Museum and one-day ‘outdoor’ exhibitions in Woking town centre (actually held under cover in Mercia Walk).

With approximately 130 members, the Society is managed by a committee comprising these elected and nominated officers:
