About

We’ve been around for nearly 100 years and currently have over 150 members, ranging from beginners to professional artists, plus some who just like to watch and learn. The Society exists to encourage wider interest in the local area in the visual arts – sculpture, pottery and printing, as well as painting – and to provide inspiration in their practice and appreciation.
Join us and you will:

- Meet friendly, like-minded people.
- See and hear experts in action at regular meetings, with demonstrations in acrylics, mixed-media, oils, pastels, watercolour and more.
- Enjoy workshops run by professional artists.
- Learn by having your own work appraised by a professional.

When and where

Monthly meetings take place on the first Saturday of every month from 2:20 pm to 4:30 pm at The Vyne in Knaphill (just off Broadway, GU21 2SP). Parking is free in the public car park opposite. Admission £2.00 for members, £5.00 for visitors – new members and visitors are always welcome.

Our main exhibitions are at The Lightbox in Woking, with prizes awarded for the best work. Members can also exhibit and sell their work in Woking town centre, where ‘outdoor’ exhibitions are held – usually in Mercia Walk – on four Saturdays each year, two in June and two in September.

Workshops are held at Brookwood Memorial Hall, adjacent to 150 Connaught Road, Brookwood GU24 0AL.
