'Woodland Shadows'

“I have selected this painting for its contrast of light and shade, its colours and freshness. I like the effect of the limited palette, its simplicity and what I call the ‘feel good factor’. When in the gallery it was a work I was drawn to.”
The Artist comments..
"Woodland has always been one of my favourite places. I love it when the sun is low and the sun filters through the trees, creating shafts of light & atmosphere. For this painting I chose a limited palette and an impressionistic approach. The strong vertical trunks give the painting structure while the luminous central light, cool blue-greens contrast with the warm yellow highlights that create the sense of sunlight."
